We get this question a lot, but nope! HobbyTown Santee is your destination for all things RC cars, model kits, board games, and hobbies galore. Hobby Lobby is more about arts and crafts supplies. If you’re looking to build a model airplane or need help with your next Magic: The Gathering deck, we’re the place to be. While spectators can attend events as a spectator like The Lap Factory's races for free, participants may need to pay a registration fee. Other events, such as clinics and classes, may also have associated costs.
Do you offer repairs for RC cars and other hobby products?
Yes, we provide RC car repair services as well as assistance with other hobby products. Bring your item to the store, and our knowledgeable staff will help you with repairs or troubleshooting depending on the complexity of the repair we may have you leave your item with us.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes we offer gift cards in-store! They make a great gift for hobby enthusiasts of all ages.
What is Acima Financing?
HobbyTown Santee offers the Acima financing program for in-store purchases so you can make purchases today and pay over time. Acima is a lease-pay program that lets you lease items to own by making payments for the full term or pay off early at a discount. There is no minimum credit score to be approved and Acima does not review your FICO score. You can apply for Acima financing if you have an active checking account with at least $1,000 of income each month, can show 3 months of income history with your current source of income and provide your government issued photo ID or driver’s license, and a Social Security number or taxpayer identification number.
If you are interested in Acima financing, one of our team members can walk you through the application in store, or you can apply online in advance.
Important Acima Disclaimers: This service is a rental or lease purchase agreement provided by Acima. It is not a loan, credit or financing. While no credit history is required, Acima obtains information from consumer reporting agencies in connection with a lease application. Acima considers multiple data points in reviewing applications and regularly approve customers with less than perfect credit history. Acima Cash Price includes a markup over invoice price. Acquiring ownership by leasing costs more than the retailer’s cash price. Not all applicants are approved.

What are your store return policies?
Returns & Exchanges Policy
We want you to be happy with your purchase! Here’s how we can assist:
- Within 7 days: If you have your original receipt and the items are in unopened packaging, we’ll gladly refund your purchase using your original method of payment.
- After 7 days, up to 30 days: With your receipt and unopened items, we’ll provide a store credit for future purchases.
- After 30 days: Unfortunately, we’re unable to accept returns.
- Please note: Electronic items cannot be returned.
What is a backorder vs. a special order?
A “backorder” is a previously available item that is temporarily out of stock from the distributor. A “special order” is an item that is available but not in stock at the store. When a customer places a special order or a back order, they are reserving the item for when it becomes in stock and shippable at a later date. All backorders and special orders must be prepaid in full to reserve the product.
Who can place backorders and special orders?
All customers are eligible to place backorders and special orders.
When are backorders and special orders paid for?
All backorders and special orders are paid in full at the time the order is placed.
What is a pre-order?
A “pre-order” is a newly announced product that has not been made commercially available yet. When a customer places a “pre-order,” they are reserving the item for when it becomes in stock and shippable at a later date. All pre-orders must be pre-paid in full to reserve the product.
Who can place a pre-order?
All customers are eligible to place pre-orders.
When are pre-orders paid for?
Pre-orders are paid in full in person at the time the order is placed.
